Fluxus set to open at Fashion Island

Los Angeles-based Fluxus, a boutique with a loyal celebrity following, is opening an Orange County flagship at Fashion Island this spring. Fluxus will occupy a new 1,329-square-foot space next to Nordstrom.

Worn by Hollywood trend setters including Jessica Alba, Nicole Richie, Rachel Bilson and Eva Longoria, Fluxus is a casual brand known for its high quality t-shirts and soft knit pieces, as well as avant-garde pieces for men, women and kids.

Fluxus designs and manufactures tops, sweaters, dresses, leggings, wraps and outerwear. All Fluxus garments are made in Los Angeles.

Launched in 2007 by Martin Paquette, Fluxus is inspired by its namesake mid-century experimental art movement and encourages self-expression through fashion. Paquette says Fluxus, "Represents the blending and connecting of all aspects of art and life. There is life, there is art, and in between is fashion.”

The head designer is LA native and Project Runway Season 3 winner Jeffrey Sebelia. According to Sebelia, the spring collection is easy, chic, daring, and affordable. The creative inspiration was “backstage at a ballet rehearsal and front row of a rock concert.” The collection is also carried at high-end retailers such as Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom.

Visited by more than 13 million people annually, Fashion Island offers a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere that is distinctively Southern California.
